Regeneus and accessibility

We have added accessibility features to our website to assist people with disabilities. Our aim is to comply with the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

Our accessibility features include:

A skip to content link sits at the top of each web page. It is hidden, but accessible to visitors with screen readers. Skip to content allows these visitors to move directly to the information they want, skipping navigation.

HTML based content

All content is HTML based. This includes images and links.

  • Hyperlinked images have text equivalents for screen readers.
  • All images have alternative tags or text explanations on the web page.
  • All links are descriptive for screen reader users who scan the website via links.
  • All audio / video content embedded into this website has an HTML and PDF transcript.
  • Navigation works independent of JavaScript. JavaScript enhances the visitor’s experience only.

Linear alternatives for tables

For screen reader users, we have provided linear alternatives for content in tables. A link to an alternate reading format sits below each table.

Adjustable text size

We have provided text resize buttons at the top of each web page. Website visitors can increase or decrease text size with a click of the button. Each click of the button further increases or decreases the size.

Colour contrast

We have designed the website with easy to read colours and high contrast.

Tab navigation for motor impairment

Visitors who find it difficult to use a mouse can tab through our website, including form pages.

Most browsers support the tab function:

  • Use the tab key to move through navigation and links on a web page
  • Use Shift + tab to move in reverse
  • Press Enter to click on a link and submit a form
  • Use left / right arrow keys to select radio buttons and tick boxes
