About fat cells and stem cells

Our technology uses your pet’s own fat cells. These cells are easy to collect and contain high quantities of mature stem cells. Fat tissue also contains cells of several other types.

These types of cells differ, especially when it comes to their regenerative or anti inflammatory functions.

Mature stems cells are not embryo stem cells

AdiCell technology uses mature stem cells and other cells from your animal’s fat. Embryonic cells are not used.

As opposed to stem cells from an embryo or umbilical cord blood, cells from fat tissue come from the live animal. Think of these cells as your dog’s own emergency repair kit. Importantly, there is no ethical dispute regarding the use of mature stem cells. Additionally, the AdiCell procedure is a same day process. No lengthy wait periods. No culturing or growing of cells.

Mature stem cell qualities

  • Stem cells maintain and repair tissue
  • Stem cells can renew themselves and when injected into an area they repair unhealthy or damaged tissue
  • Renewed stem cells produce all the specialised cell types of the original (with some limitations)

Recent discoveries in mature stem cells

Recently research into stem cells has generated a great deal of excitement. Scientists have found mature stem cells in many more tissues than they once thought possible. First from bone marrow and now from fat, scientists use mature stem cells for procedures such as transplants. Fat tissue is an extremely rich source of these cells.

No rejection with regenerative stem cells

Your dog will not reject cells from its own body so there is minimal risk. Using an animal’s own mature stem cells is an easy way to reproduce what nature does best. If body tissue is damaged, stem cells help advance the healing process.

Stem cells have many different functions. For example, these cells can regenerate

  • Bones
  • Cartilage (connective tissue)
  • Heart
  • Nerves
  • Muscles
  • Blood vessels
  • Fat tissue
  • Liver tissue
